Workplace Safety and Injury Management Coordinator - Toowoomba Teach Queensland (Organisation site) Darling Downs South West Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance We are offering an exciting Temporary Full-time opportunity for a Workplace Safety and Injury Management Coordinator role to support a cluster of three schools (Special, Secondary, and Primary) across the Toowoomba location from January 2025, for a period of 6 months unless otherwise determined.

This role is school-based, 7.25 hours per day.
School cluster: Centenary Heights State High School (base school) Toowoomba West Special School Rockville State School About the Role: Responsibilities include: Maintain connection to the Health and Safety Advisor/Representatives by playing an active role in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HS&W).
Participate in internal and external audits and contribute to the implementation of identified corrective actions.
Provide leadership, guidance and advice regarding HS&W including injury management to effect improvements in HS&W performance.
Monitor, review, analyse and report on incidents from My HR Workplace Health and Safety to identify new or emerging issues, risks or trends and recommend strategies for improvement and corrective actions.
Facilitate HS&W training to raise awareness for all employees on delivery strategies with the view to building a positive safety culture.
Promote psychologically and physically safe workplaces and practices with a focus on employee wellbeing and education.
Provide advice, support and compliance in building fire safety and fulfil Fire Safety Advisor duties as required.
Support school leadership to manage serious incidents including potentially traumatic events.
Provide advice to school leadership on incident prevention, hazard control, health and safety promotion, and risks in line with the HSWMS.
Prepare necessary reports and correspondence.
Provide advice and support school operations in preparedness for emergency and evacuation procedures.
