About the opportunity: Position: Senior Medical Officer - Rural Generalist
Vacancy: Permanent flexible and temporary flexible up to two years
The purpose of this position is to provide high quality clinical services, and in particular ACRRM trainee and junior doctor supervision and training, as a part of the multidisciplinary team delivering integrated primary, community and secondary level health services to the Indigenous community of Palm Island.

Requirements: A Fellowed and experienced Rural Generalist who is eligible for accreditation as a supervisor – FACRRM or FRACGP with appropriate rural/remote experience. Demonstrated capability and experience in at least one of the following Advanced Skills disciplines is highly desirable: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Remote Medicine or Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated capability in procedural anaesthetics and/or obstetrics would be well regarded. Travel: from time to time this position may be required to travel to and work at other facilities located within the THHS network to participate in roster backfill, quality, training or outreach services. Possession of class C drivers' licence. This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
