The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Principal Technology Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.
Your opportunity The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project is seeking a new team member that is passionate about delivering on the vision for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS) to provide quality healthcare to the Mackay region. The new facility will increase the capacity of the Mackay Base Hospital by 128 beds, relocating Maternity, Birth Suites, Neonatal and Paediatric wards and adding new medical wards to service the growing demand.
You will join a high-performing, collaborative, accountable, respectful, and motivated team that is looking to partner with Queensland Health and contractors to build this new facility and undertake the operational commissioning of the Mackay Hospital Expansion Project and associated hospital projects.
Your opportunity will be to provide advanced expert technical advice and leadership in the establishment and maintenance of the governance and support framework for information technology and information management to enhance and support the delivery of high-quality patient care in a project environment. This includes the ongoing development, integration, and maintenance of a range of both clinical and non-clinical information technology infrastructure and systems.
About the Team The Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Department is a team of predominantly technical staff working closely with the Digital and Information Management teams to provide advice and support to optimise patient care through the use of a contemporary Health Care environment.
The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP) will deliver the expansion of Mackay Base Hospital, with an additional 128 beds for the community. The expansion project aims to improve the patient experience and provide quality healthcare outcomes for the Mackay region.
The expansion project will deliver a new wing off the existing hospital building. Health services included in the build will be the Women's Health Unit with new birthing suites and maternity ward, Special Care Nursery, Child and Adolescent Unit, new medical wards and the Ronald McDonald Family Room.
It will also provide frontline hospital workers with the facilities they need to meet the rising demand for healthcare in the region and ensure Mackay residents have access to a range of health services closer to home.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
