D&ST (part of the Queensland Police Service) is looking for a Principal Release Manager to join our team, overseeing critical software releases for Queensland's frontline services.
As the Principal Release Manager, you'll be responsible for the entire Release Management process (aligned with ITIL standards), ensuring smooth, reliable software deployments.
You'll collaborate with Agile software development teams across D&ST to coordinate releases, managing complex scheduling and testing processes for both in-house applications and third-party solutions.

Your Key Accountabilities:
Provide process leadership and mentoring to a large group of ICT professionals involved in the development, implementation, and transition of systems into production across a diverse range of applications, databases, and servers in multiple data centre facilities infrastructure.
Perform human resource management activities including staff development and workload planning to ensure adequate resources are available to deliver transition services in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
Contribute to a dynamic environment, ensuring risks are identified and minimised.
Drive the development of automation and innovation across the team to realise efficiencies.
Effectively document, communicate, manage, and coordinate Releases to minimise the adverse impact of ongoing issues on business operations across the customer environments.
Identify risks and issues and provide regular reports to senior management on internal release team metrics including release progress.
Role Requirements:
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
Highly Desirable
Experience working within various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC).
Practical understanding and use of Scrum agile methodologies and practices.
Release Governance experience in scheduling, coordinating, processes and tooling.
