This pivotal role will ensure the delivery of business outcomes while maintaining compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage procurement activities, including documentation development, sourcing, risk management, tendering, and contract negotiation to ensure optimal outcomes for FSQ. Provide expert advice and leadership on procurement strategies, contract administration, and procedures to FSQ and key stakeholders, fostering a culture of probity, accountability, and transparency. Develop, manage, and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring performance KPIs are met and aligned with FSQ's objectives, while overseeing procurement performance reporting and market analysis. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, including the QLD Procurement Policy, and maintain accurate documentation to support audit and accountability processes. What we are looking for: We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in managing procurement activities, contracts, and negotiations, ideally within a government or similar environment. You will have strong knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies, and practices, and be able to manage conflicting priorities, tight deadlines, and complex procurement issues. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential, as you will need to influence senior management and stakeholders to ensure successful procurement outcomes. Your ability to lead and foster a culture of high-level customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team will be key to success in this role.
Ideally, you will also have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., procurement, business, law) and prior experience in project management, procurement, or change management, though these are not mandatory.
If you are an experienced procurement professional with a strong track record in delivering high-quality outcomes, we encourage you to apply. Join us in contributing to the efficient and effective operation of Forensic Science Queensland.
Further information We are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.
Applications will remain current for 12 months or for the duration of the vacancy. Future vacancies of a temporary, full time and part time nature may also be filled through this recruitment process.
