The Nursing Perioperative & Ambulatory Care at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Gastroenterology) to join their team on a temporary basis.
Your opportunity The Clinical Nurse Consultant is an employee who is a registered nurse who:
Is appointed to an advanced practice nursing position; and Demonstrates a specialised clinical expertise and/or specialised skill set. About the Team The Clinical Nurse Consultant Gastroenterology position is in the Perioperative Women's and Ambulatory Care Stream. Currently, the unit sits within the General Surgical Department. General Surgeons currently perform Upper Gastrointestinal, Colonoscopy, and Colorectal surgery within Mackay Hospital and Health Service. Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) offers a Telehealth model overseen by Specialist VMOs, and accredited General Surgery consultants also assist with the IBD service. The service is supported by other Specialist CNCs - Bowel Screen, Endoscopy, and Hepatology nurses who will work closely with the CNC Gastroenterology.
