Our Health Service is expanding and so is our Prison and Youth Detention Health Services Team!
• Prison and Youth Detention Health Services (PYDHS) is a rapidly growing division within the West Moreton Health region, delivering primary health care services to detained, remanded and sentenced prisoners and Young Persons across eight facilities.
The Physiotherapist – Advanced (Prison and Youth Detention Health Services) will provide a specialised primary contact physiotherapy service to prison and youth detention health services utilising advanced level physiotherapy clinical knowledge and skills and evidence-based practice.
The position will lead specific quality and research activities contributing to the evaluation and strategic development of this five-day per week service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Advanced level knowledge, skills, professional judgement and ability to apply contemporary evidence-based physiotherapy clinical practice.
Ability to use expertise and evidence-based practice to facilitate novel, complex physiotherapy or multidisciplinary clinical decisions in response to problems of significant scope within a complex caseload.
Recognised expertise, knowledge and skills obtained through significant professional development activities, post graduate education or formal qualification(s).
Ability to initiate, plan, implement and evaluate service improvement initiatives and to provide clinical supervision, operational coordination and education to students on rotation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including an ability to work flexibly to respond to changing work priorities and an ability to provide advanced level advice within specific expertise regarding professional standards and multi-professional clinical service development.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Relevant post graduate qualifications and/or significant expertise in Musculoskeletal, Sports Physiotherapy or Emergency Physiotherapy is highly desirable.
