The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of coating applications across various projects, contributing to the longevity and durability of critical mining, port and transport infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive inspections of coating applications to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.Perform field and laboratory testing of coatings, including adhesion testing, dry film thickness measurements, and environmental condition monitoring (e.g., humidity, temperature, dew point).Interpret coating specifications and ensure that all materials, surface preparation techniques, and application processes adhere to industry standards and project requirements.Identify coating defects such as pinholes, blisters, or poor adhesion, providing detailed recommendations for rectification and preventative measures.Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence, detailing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions when necessary.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to address coating-related issues and provide expert advice.Ensure all coating operations are carried out in line with workplace health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.Stay updated on the latest developments in coating technologies and inspection methodologies.Selection Criteria Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, the successful applicant will ideally have:
NACE CIP Level 3 (Senior Certified Coatings Inspector) is mandatory.Minimum of 5 years in coatings inspection, with a proven track record in supervising inspection teams.In-depth knowledge of coating materials, application processes, and inspection techniques.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a strong attention to detail.A proactive approach and demonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.Willingness to travel to various project sites across Australia.Australian citizen, Permanent Resident, or equivalent working rights in Australia.Current open and unlimited Australian driver's license.Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.Fluent in written and spoken English.Applicants who do not meet ALL of the Selection Criteria will not be considered.
