QinetiQ are now accepting applications for this key strategic position within our Growth team for our Australian Sector. Reporting to the Business Winning Excellence Director, the Sector Growth Governance Manager will focus on producing business winning excellence (BWE) within the Australian Sector by ensuring rigorous adherence to QinetiQ's governance frameworks, including the Shipley business development and proposal process and BWE industry best practices. As a pivotal leadership position within the Sector, you will play a crucial role in influencing and driving professional BWE activities across the organisation. Ideally, this position will be based in Canberra, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate.
As Sector Growth Governance Manager, you will be accountable to:
Lead, facilitate and promote adherence to QinetiQ's business winning (BW) governance frameworks, the Shipley process and industry best practice through active engagement and collaboration across the organisation, emphasising cooperative efforts rather than directive authority. Advocate the application of best practice policies, processes, tools, competency frameworks and job related skills and competency training materials, aligned with QinetiQ and Australian Sector Operating Models, the Growth Function Operating Model, QinetiQ's Project Lifecycle Framework (PLF), the Shipley Process and all relevant QinetiQ policies and processes. Deploy a continuous improvement initiative utilising the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) to assess and optimise current processes, including workflow analysis within governance frameworks and benchmark against industry best practices (e.g. Shipley Process) to enhance the profitability of the sector by maximising BW capabilities through increased effectiveness and efficiency. Through extensive engagement with key stakeholders including Group, Growth Function and Business Unit end-users, incorporate the insights from BWE process assessment activities to design and optimise processes, enhancing efficiency and aligning with best practices. In consultation with the Director BWE, design, develop and integrate new processes into existing operations, policies and frameworks. Continuously refine BWE processes to ensure optimal results. Support the development of proposals by promoting governance across the Australia Sector and ensure adherence to standards, provide guidance and continuously improve procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance. Engage widely and regularly across both the sector Growth function and other business units to drive a professional approach to business winning activity. Advocate for and promote a proactive and robust culture of governance throughout the entire bid cycle across the Australia Sector. To be successful in the role of Sector Growth Governance Manager you will need to bring with you:
A bachelor's degree in business or an equivalent nationally recognised professional qualification and/or a significant depth of experience in a similar role. Advanced knowledge and application of the Shipley business processes, procedures and systems with a more developed understanding of the underlying concepts & principles for the tasking of the business unit. Highly developed oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills in planning, managing and coordinating. An ability to apply good judgement with the capacity to make informed, well thought through decisions. A highly analytical and solution focused approach with exceptional attention to detail. An ability to solicit, support and coordinate efforts of a diverse team of functional experts. Advanced professional writing capabilities to develop or improve documents and ensure understandable and useful information. Ability to manage with communication challenges and achieve successful outcomes. The ability to take a proactive approach to customer relationships, the adoption of standards, internal processes, contribution to continuous improvement initiatives and the management of work within a team context. Advanced commercial awareness and business acumen with experience in project management within geographically dispersed virtual and local multi-disciplined teams. Candidates will need to hold or be eligible to apply for a Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance.
