QHSE Advisor / Specialist - Water and Fluid Management Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) Location: Brisbane, Qld or Sunshine Coast, Qld. Home Office based. Travel required for client meetings, site visits, operations support, and facility audits.Job Purpose: The QHSE Advisor is pivotal in overseeing the Health, Safety, and Environment operations within Hydrera Water Services' Australian operations. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, enhancing quality control systems, and managing comprehensive training programs to uphold and improve safety and operational standards.Job Summary: As the QHSE Advisor, you will lead the development and implementation of safety and quality protocols, oversee compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and drive the continuous improvement of safety and quality practices across the company. Your role will ensure that all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the highest industry standards.Key Responsibilities:Safety and Compliance Oversight:Implement and monitor compliance with safety laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe workplace environment.Manage and execute safety audits, risk assessments, and other safety management activities.Develop and maintain QHSE documentation, including safety manuals, incident reports, and compliance records.Continuously evaluate and improve quality processes to enhance operational efficiency and product integrity.Ensure that all equipment and processes meet quality standards before deployment in operational activities.Develop and deliver comprehensive training modules for staff, supervisors, and management to ensure high levels of competency in safety and operational procedures.Quality Systems Management:Oversee the development and implementation of quality systems that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.Training and Development:Manage ongoing staff training and certification to maintain high safety standards and compliance with industry regulations.Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the QHSE department.Operational Support and Advisory:Provide operational support to various departments, ensuring that QHSE considerations are integrated into daily operations.Advise on the suitability of equipment and operational plans, recommending improvements and innovations based on current job parameters and emerging industry trends.Consult with clients, field teams, and management to ensure that QHSE practices are understood and implemented effectively.Compile and analyse monthly KPI performance statistics, reporting these insights to stakeholders and using them to guide QHSE strategies.Reporting and Communication:Maintain regular communication with the General Manager and other corporate officers, providing updates on QHSE performance and initiatives.Lead a weekly safety meeting presentation with all available staff.Support the develop and implement systems for tracking and analysing key HR metrics like turnover rates, hiring costs, and employee satisfaction.HR Support:Support HR department when required or requested with compiling detailed reports for senior management on HR statistics and insights.Support HR Manager with daily tasks and support requested.Skills and Experience:Education:Advanced Diploma, associate degree, or higher in a related field; or experience equivalent to these qualifications.Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's LicenceWell site Permit to Work Rev.3Senior First Aid/CPRWhite CardEligible to work in Australia.Operate vehicles in the field (4x4 Santos approved)May be required to undertake National Police ClearanceExperience:Minimum 5 years of experience in a QHSE role, preferably within the oil & gas or water industry.Proven history in managing QHSE functions in a complex, dynamic environment.Skills:In-depth knowledge of Australian employment law related to QHSE and HR best practices.Deep understanding of local and international safety and quality regulations applicable to the oil & gas and water industry.Strong ability to lead a team, manage conflicts, and build effective relationships across various levels of the organization.Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.Proficient in identifying issues, analysing data, and developing practical solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of producing detailed reports and presenting findings clearly.Proficient in QHSE and HRIS systems, MS Office (Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and OneDrive.Physical Requirements:This position is predominantly office-based and requires extended periods of sitting.Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and scanners.Occasionally requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary.Capable of performing in high-stress environments and meeting the physical demands of occasional field visits.Must successfully complete pre-employment medical tests, including a general medical exam and a drug and alcohol screen.Performance Metrics:Employee satisfaction and engagement levels.ISO and internal Compliance audit results.Compliance with QHSE standards and reduction in non-compliance incidents.Effectiveness of training programs as reflected in reduced accident rates and improved safety audits.Successful implementation and maintenance of quality systems.Effectiveness of training programs measured by employee performance improvement.
