Job Description As a QC1 Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our fabricated equipment. Your main responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, recording inspection data, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and client specifications. You will work closely with the Welding Engineer and QA Coordinator/Manager to maintain a high level of quality control throughout the fabrication process. Key Responsibilities: Perform dimensional checks on assemblies and fit-up of weld joints to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Manage the signing-off of the Inspection Test Plan by stakeholders throughout the project. Maintain accurate records of all QC activities and update the QC database. Collaborate with the Afternoon shift supervisor and/or weld inspector for smooth shift handovers. Assist with QC1 inspections across other facilities when required. Support the QC/QA team with documentation as necessary. Qualifications Trade qualification in engineering or a related field. Welding Inspector certification from one of the following recognized bodies: International Institute of Welding (IIW), Welding Technology Institute of Australia, Certification Board of Inspecting Personnel (CBIP) New Zealand, or CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2. Strong understanding of Australian and international manufacturing standards (AS/NZS, ASME, etc.). Proficiency in basic quality skills, equipment calibration, and quality documentation. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure. Personal drive, initiative, and resourcefulness.
