About The Role
Our Corporate Affairs team is expanding and we're looking for a Media Relations Manager based in Sydney to join our vast community of solvers.
The Corporate Affairs team brings our purpose to life by telling our story to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
In a fast-paced, collaborative and high performing team, we work together to manage issues, share updates, drive a leading culture, and showcase our commitment to delivering client outcomes.
We do this by engaging a wide range of stakeholders, across a range of communications channels.
You'll help solve complex problems by using your skills in:
External affairs Corporate affairs Strategic communication Journalism Political and/or regulatory advisory News and story judgment Stakeholder management Public relations and story pitching
In our Corporate Affairs team, your impact will be seen by:
Supporting the Head of Media Relations and Head of Corporate Affairs to deliver the firm's media and communication strategy Bringing the outside in - using your media, industry and other relationships, to stay tapped into what's happening externally, and how this might shape our approach Developing and supporting media and communication plans for a range of initiatives Being a point of contact for journalists and handling inquiries from domestic and global outlets Applying a strong risk lens to issues management and being agile in crisis scenarios Building extensive networks internally, and bringing story ideas, media pitches and thought leadership to the table regularly (in support of our business priorities) Researching, preparing and delivering insightful and newsworthy content (thought leadership, articles, media releases, social media content etc.)
Preparing spokespeople for interviews or external engagements Actively contributing to our digital and social media strategy Partnering with internal communications and engagement colleagues to amplify and leverage content
What would you be focused on?
In this role, you'll get to drive media coverage and content across lots of key industries, supporting our core capabilities (such as Tax, Assurance and Advisory), and our rapidly evolving market priority areas of AI, Climate, Trust and Business Model Reinvention.
You'll also get to work on some meaty issues end-to-end, which means supporting our internal and external stakeholders.
Along with the Executive and business lines, our team works hand-in-glove with our fabulous internal communications team, Government & Regulatory Affairs, Clients & Markets, Risk & Ethics, People & Culture, and many more!

More About You
You have a mix of experience in either journalism, media/external communications, corporate communications, social and digital media, or political and/or regulatory roles You know what makes a great story You are high energy and looking for a role that is always on You thrive in a fast paced environment and enjoy getting involved in a variety of issues and topics You have excellent verbal and written communications skills, including media release writing, copywriting and editing, and you are skilled in advising on, and dealing with, the practical application of media coverage You are interested in the type of work that PwC Australia does, and you are collaborative and enjoy working with people.
You're a problem solver by nature and relish the opportunity to work unsupervised and find your own solutions where good judgment and initiative is often what's most important.
