About the Role Based in BYD's Sydney , this role will support our Procurement team for an upcoming new brand.
On offer is a Purchasing Specialist position and your day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality materials and services at the best prices.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure optimal agreements for the company.
Research and source products, materials, and services that meet the company's quality standards and cost requirements.
Issue purchase orders and follow through on the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements.
Ensure that all agreements are legally compliant and aligned with the company's policies and goals.
Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Implement cost-reduction strategies, such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, or long-term contracts.
Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, including quality, reliability, and delivery.
Perform vendor audits to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical practices.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements in all procurement processes.
Work closely with other departments, including production, finance, and quality control, to ensure that procurement activities align with the company's objectives.
Address any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost with the appropriate internal teams and suppliers.
Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and market conditions.
Analyze procurement data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Key requirements: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage as it opens opportunities for collaboration with our international teams and expands your role within the company.
