Role Overview: The Purchasing Specialist will manage all sourcing and procurement functions to secure high-quality automotive components and services at competitive prices. This position demands strong skills in vendor negotiation, contract management, and supply chain logistics, along with a collaborative approach to align procurement activities with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience from the automotive or similar industry, emphasising strategic sourcing, cost management, and effective supplier relationship management.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate suppliers for automotive parts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to secure a steady supply of high-quality materials.
Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers to maximize organizational value.
Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Analyse costs and implement strategies to optimize procurement expenses while maintaining quality.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to ensure suppliers meet company standards.
Manage inventory levels to align with production schedules while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
Identify risks in the supply chain and proactively resolve supplier-related issues.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with production goals.
Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the automotive or similar industry.
Strong negotiation skills and experience with supplier management.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations, including ISO/TS 16949.
Proficiency in procurement and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships.
