Purchasing Specialist

As Purchasing Specialist, you are responsible for overseeing the procurement and logistics processes to ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services.
This role involves managing stock control, optimizing purchasing and logistics costs.
The objective is to enhance operational efficiency by managing inventory effectively, and coordinating with finance, sales, and logistics departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Forecast and order stock for all products.Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stock records and minimize discrepancies.Optimize and maintain stock levels/ stockturn (Min/Max, re-order levels, etc.
).Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely placement.Track orders and coordinate with suppliers to address any issues or delays and updated ETAs and other information in ERP.Assist stock takes (monthly, random, and annual).Optimize logistic costs for incoming goods such as consolidating orders.Prepare monthly reports on stock and purchase orders.Ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory and shipping information is maintained in the ERP system.Ad-hoc Tasks/Projects.SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Experience: Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role in the wholesale business.Good Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Knowledge: Strong knowledge of procurement procedures and supplier management.Ability: Ability to analyse data, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
