Purchasing Officer
We are seeking a Purchasing Officer for an immediate start with a growing manufacturer in a niche market, based in Molendinar on the Gold Coast.
Procurement
Duties will include:
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply of high-quality materials.Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock levels are accurately tracked and controlled.
Regularly conduct stock takes and monitor inventory flow.Cost & Quality Optimization: Continuously seek ways to optimize the cost of goods while maintaining or improving the quality of our premium components.Order Management: Place timely orders for supply components, ensuring there is no disruption to production while minimizing excess stock.Vendor Sourcing: Research and onboard new suppliers as necessary to support business growth and improve supply chain efficiency.
Dispatch
Duties will include:
Product Dispatch: Manage the labelling, packaging, and dispatch of finished products and spare parts, ensuring timely delivery to customers.Shipping Coordination: Work with freight companies and couriers to ensure shipments are sent on schedule and arrive in perfect condition, both domestically and internationally.Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products are correctly packed, labelled, and meet our high standards before dispatching to customers.Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure smooth communication regarding shipments, deliveries, and any potential delays.System & Process Improvements: Continuously evaluate and improve dispatch processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
About You
Minimum Requirements:
Forklift LicenseProcurement Experience: Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or product-based environment.Dispatch & Logistics Knowledge: Strong understanding of shipping and dispatch processes, with experience managing product shipments and coordinating with freight companies.Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain meticulous records.Cost & Inventory Management: Solid experience with inventory control, cost management, and supplier negotiations.Problem-Solving Ability: A proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues in procurement and dispatch.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality dispatch and accurate inventory management.Proficient on a Computer (Xero / Excel experience an advantage)Physically capable and willing to work in a hands-on role.
On Offer
Temp to Permanent Placement (after successful probation period)$38.00 per hourHours of Work: Monday to Thursday: 6:30am to 3pm.
Friday 6am to 12noon.Work for a friendly company.
All applicants must successfully complete a Drug and Alcohol test and undergo a medical examination.
Additionally, successful candidates will be required to provide two recent working references and proof of Australian Work Rights.
