Accounts Officer - Purchasing

We have a full-time vacancy for a Purchasing Officer in our team. We are seeking well-motivated, knowledgeable candidates to be part of a growing company and dynamic purchasing team.
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for ensuring that Wilmar purchasing processes are maintained in accordance with Wilmar policies and procedures.
This is a 12-month contract role, providing maternity leave coverage and will be based in our Townsville office in the heart of the city. Enjoy a beautiful tropical climate, stunning coastal views and a welcoming community with easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and Magnetic Island.
Responsibilities will include:
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of purchase requisitions including associated approvals/authorisations for purchase orders. Work with the Purchasing Team to maintain high work standards and continually improve work practices and procedures enabling the purchasing of goods and services to meet customer service expectations. Review purchasing/supply quotes and seek alternatives on appropriate alternatives to reduce overall cost to the business. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in a high performing team environment. Adhere to compliance with accounting policies, procedures, strategies and systems in such a way that audit requirements are met and adverse business impacts are mitigated. The Successful Applicant
At Wilmar, we're seeking a dynamic professional with a minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing and a strong command of SAP. You'll thrive in our team-oriented environment with a proven track record of initiative, collaboration, and exceptional communication skills. With 10 years of experience in a similar role, you bring not only your expertise in procurement but also a deep understanding of the Sugar Industry Act (SIA) and the Sugar Industry Code of Practice—making you a valuable asset in our mission to lead the industry with excellence and innovation.
