Purchasing Officer

Seeking an experienced purchasing officer in Townsville for a DIDO mine site opportunity!
Our client is a privately owned gold mine situated approximately 130km south of Townsville and 90km east of Charters Towers in North-east Queensland.
Your new role
Due to coverage requirements, our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced purchasing officer. Your new role would be a Tues - Fri roster DIDO from Charters Towers or Townsville. Looking for an initial term of three months.
Requirements include:
Previous purchasing experience preferably within a mining environment or similar; Experience with Pronto is beneficial; Ability to resolve order/delivery discrepancies with suppliers; Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with suppliers; Understanding and undertaking the expediting process; Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with internal clients; Ability to prioritise especially for urgently required items; Prepared to undertake stock taking and other tasks as required. This will include daily checks of reagents/consumables to maintain inventory levels for Processing, assisting with over the counter issues when required. What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you must have a current manual drivers' licence and complete a mine site medical & police check.
