Purchasing Officer

Details of the offer

Our client based in Thomastown, specialising in the Manufacturing of Smallgoods products such has bacon, ham and salami, are currently looking for a highly driven hands-on Purchasing Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will directly report to the General Manager and work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to order the required artwork amendment of labels and printed carrier bags.
Your primary purpose will be:

Order all materials by raising a purchase order and sending it off to suppliers.
Monitoring stock levels daily/weekly/monthly of all ingredients, casings, barrier bags, carboard cartons, labels and PPE.
Raising POS for services to truck refrigeration units.
Maintaining and building supplier relationships.
Essential Required Skills/ Experience / Education:

Previous experience in a similar role.
Experience in the food or smallgoods industry an advantage.
Must have clear communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
The ability to show initiative.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced skills in MS Excel, Word and other MS applications.
