About the Role The Purchasing Officer role is a newly created position within Repurpose It, and will play a key role in vendor management, purchase order management, and price comparison analysis, to ensure that we are getting the most cost-effective outcomes within the required timelines.
The responsibilities of the role are varied, however, the main responsibilities are:
Evaluate new vendors by conducting background checks and negotiating terms, and if approved onboarding these into our ERP systemReview our list of approved vendors, ensuring that they continue to meet our standards and align to our valuesCreate, review, and request approvals for purchase orders according to relevant financial delegationAct as the primary contact for vendors and internal stakeholdersGenerate regular reports on purchasing activities, including the number of processed orders, spending by department, and supplier performanceAnalyse purchasing data to identify trends, potential cost savings, and efficiency improvementsPresent reports to the Procurement Manager, providing insights and recommendations based on dataEnsure all purchasing activities adhere to Procurement policies and guidelinesMonitor transactions for compliance, report any discrepancies, and take corrective action when necessaryThis is a full-time, ongoing position based in Epping.
Whilst we are flexible, this is an on-site role rather than a hybrid position.
About you: The following skills and qualifications are required in this role:
Bachelor's degree (Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field)Demonstrated experience in a similar purchasing role, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industryProcess driven with excellent attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent stakeholder management, organisation and influencing skillsStrong negotiation and time management skillsFamiliarity with accounting proceduresCurrent Police CheckMust have right to work in AustraliaWhy Repurpose It?
