They offer a one-stop-shop solution for their customers across Australia, giving them a comprehensive range of indirect consumables that cover the needs of industries such as food & beverage manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturing and aged & healthcare.
ABOUT THE ROLE:The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing and buying materials, goods, and services essential for the company's operations.
You will ensure that the company maintains optimal stock levels and that all purchases are cost-effective and of high quality.
Note: Moving to Reservoir in 2025 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Purchasing Officer's duties will include:
Researching Vendors: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.Comparing Offers: Assessing offers from suppliers to determine the best options.Negotiating Contracts: Securing favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.Tracking Orders: Ensuring timely delivery of purchased goods.Quality Control: Reviewing the quality of purchased products.Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of purchases, delivery information, and invoices.Reporting: Preparing reports on purchases and conducting cost analyses.Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.Coordination: Working with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of goods.Industry Trends: Attending trade shows and exhibitions to stay updated with industry trends.ABOUT YOU:Essential: Proven experience (5+ Years) as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role.Knowledge of vendor sourcing practices and supply chain procedures.Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., Netstock).Strong analytical skills for financial reporting and cost analysis.Excellent negotiation skills.A degree or certificate in logistics, business administration or a related field.Desirable: Experience working within the FMCG industry.Knowledge of/exposure to Product Management processes.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:Investment into learning & development for professional growth.A friendly, dynamic & innovative culture.Collaborative working environment where teamwork is valued.A coffee machine with a never-ending supply of caffeine.Weekly team lunches provided.Interview Process:Below is the interview process for this position and only the successful candidates will be notified:
