We have an opportunity for a team focused Purchasing Officer to join Cement Australia. Reporting to the Team Lead Purchasing, you will be part of a team coordinating the purchasing requirements for our operating sites, with your own portfolio to focus on.
Your days will be spent in SAP as you convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders and other tasks in the Procure-to-Pay process. Working closely with your site stakeholders on a daily basis, you will ensure the quality and accuracy of information is high. You'll influence and manage expectations internally and externally, ensuring our sites obtain what they need, when they need it. Your skill in resolving issues as they arise is where you are able to make a difference and ultimately achieve personal satisfaction with the impact you have on our operations.
About the role: To successfully support our sites and ensure the timely supply of goods and services, you will:
Organise end-to-end management of Purchase Orders from placement to paymentFollow up expedites, backorders and update SAP recordsManage the centralised inbox, including allocating to other Purchasing OfficersManage RFQ process, updating Purchasing records and Vendor records ensuring quotes are within policy guidelinesNegotiate skills to drive value for moneyWork with Category Managers to establish new, and maintain/manage existing contracts for goods and servicesSupport shutdown activities in relation to required purchasing, planning, execution and reportingManage invoices to facilitate 'in full, on time' payment of Suppliers' invoicesManage overseas purchases, including freight quotes and tracking deliveryDrive process improvements, standard procedures and trainingBack up for other team membersAbout you: Proven experience in a similar Purchasing roleSAP Purchasing experience ideal or other Purchasing ERP systemsOutstanding relationship building skills, vendor management skills a plusIntermediate skills in MS Office suite, especially ExcelStrong influencing and negotiating skills with external VendorsBe able to drive process improvement within CACompetent running Site meetingsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of BI (Business Objects) reportingPositive and engaging attitudeValues based on honesty and a high work ethic committed to get the job doneA good understanding of international freight would be a plusWhy work for Cement Australia?
