Purchasing Officer

The Situation: We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Officer for our mining client in South Bank.
This is an initial fixed-term 6-month contract where you will be involved in managing the centralised purchasing process across multiple projects while ensuring efficient supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the purchase and supply of goods for various mining projects.
Manage freight costing and logistics for tendering and export purposes.
Maintain product catalogues and ensure accurate coding of orders.
Assist in resolving issues related to the purchasing process.
Support category management in supplier relationships.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Occasional travel to project sites as required.
About You: Extensive experience in purchasing, ideally within the mining or construction sectors.
Proficiency in SAP for supply chain functions Familiarity with cataloguing and inventory control systems.
A strong understanding of plant machinery and systems.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
