What you'll do:As a Purchasing Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the company's purchasing service provides optimal procurement efficiency.
You'll oversee daily procure-to-pay transactions in accordance with the company's procurement policies.
Your role will also involve replenishment tasks that support the warehouse and maintenance function's objectives with vendor management, inventory management, and cataloguing activities associated with procuring goods and services at the right quantity, quality, time, and price.
Maintain and support safety performance and zero tolerance to workplace incidentsReview purchase requisition details and convert approved ones into purchase ordersInvestigate purchase price variance discrepancies and resolveTrack international inbound shipments and provide custom clearance administration supportNegotiate low value low risk purchase contracts aligned with Procurement business objectivesConduct product research and source new suppliers and vendorsUpdate and maintain records of all orders, payments, and received stockWhat you bring:The ideal candidate for this Purchasing Officer role will bring extensive experience in purchasing or buying within the resource industry.
You'll have solid knowledge of procure-to-pay systems and procedures along with experience in managing consumable spare parts.
Your ability to uphold high work standards in relation to workplace health and safety will be crucial.
Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills are essential for success in this role.
Proven experience as a purchasing officer or buyerExperience in consumable spare parts management and rotable spares managementSolid understanding of procure-to-pay systems and proceduresAbility to uphold high work standards in relation to workplace health and safety, codes of conduct, policies and proceduresExcellent organisational, communication, and time management skillsProficiency in using an ERP system, such as Pronto, SAP or Maximo will be advantageous.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
