About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the TAFE NSW Class Support Team as a permanent, full-time Purchasing/Food Service Manager.
You will manage supplied agreements and relationships across 34 delivery sites.
Ensuring compliance with whole-of-government contractual obligations is a key part of this role, as you guide teams through changes in procurement and stock management practices across hospitality operations.
In this role you will be responsible for organising, controlling, and coordinating the effective purchasing of all consumables and equipment for the teaching sections.
You will provide leadership and expert advice on related computer ordering systems, support and training for Class Support Staff.
About You
We are seeking an individual with extensive experience in either Hospitality or Food and Beverage/Commercial Cookery industry, including recent experience in a supervisory/leadership position.
You will demonstrate ability to lead and manage a team, to foster a workplace culture that is supportive of TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Customer First.
You will have;
A Certificate III or above in a relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
Sound planning and analytical skills along with the ability to address specific challenges.
Extensive experience within procurement sector or relevant industry field.
Purchasing experience in a high volume hospitality environment and the capacity to acquire knowledge of TAFE policies and procedures, legislation and Treasurer's Directions in relation to purchasing, contracts legislation and administration.
Highly regarded;
Experience and/or knowledge in restaurant or food operations, particularly as a purchasing manager.
Experience running cafés and managing stores within a hotel setting.
