Procurement Supplier Compliance Assistant

The key focus of this role is to assist Procurement to assess suppliers for modern slavery risk in their business operations and supply chains.
This will involve communication with suppliers and internal staff timely and efficiently.
The role may also develop supplier-related Environmental/Social/Governance activities.
This is a part time 3 days a week role for 6-months and is based in North Sydney, with a hybrid work from home set-up after first month/training.
The rate per hour is equivalent to ACU HEW 5.1.
Skills and Experience Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office suite of products.
Strong numeracy and excel skills with the ability to create clear reports and do basic analysis of information.
Strong interpersonal, relationship and stakeholder engagement building skills - to drive participation, co-operation, compliance, and engagement.
Understanding of Procurement and supply chains.
Knowledge/understanding of Modern Slavery.
Experience using TechOne (Finance system) and SharePoint desirable.
Expected Duties Will work initially with the Procurement team in supporting and assisting ACU to fulfill its reporting requirements for, and progress related compliance initiatives around, the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth), as is reported in ACU's annual Modern Slavery Statement.
Extensive liaison with internal Procurement and Finance staff and other ACU business units, and representatives of other organisations such as Australian Catholic Anti-Slavery Network (ACAN), Australasian Universities Procurement Network (AUPN).
Generally under the guidance and direction of the Procurement and Sourcing Coordinator, who will set and coordinate workload on a day-to-day basis, and with the support of ACAN, activities may include: conducting audits and/or reports which monitor the performance of our contractors/supply chain.
This could involve exploring every operational aspect of each supplier, and their subsequent suppliers - not just their labour force, but also their external and internal suppliers, such as transport, distribution, source of raw materials, manufacturing and warehousing.
Become proficient with Sedex platform, and assist completion of comprehensive ACU Sedex profile/self-assessment questionnaire.
Maintain supplier connections and monitor supplier Modern Slavery risk.
Sedex is a global data platform for supply chain assessment and provides extensive knowledge and research on vendor connections and insight into vendors.
Training will be provided.
ACU also works with the AUPN, and this role may assist in sourcing and providing supplier spend and other information, as well as other activities via AUPN's FDRM tool (similar to ACAN's use of Sedex tool).
Develop and undertake due diligence measures to ensure the organisations we buy from do not engage in modern slavery practices - in collaboration with ACAN, to address any perceived risks across suppliers common to our supply chains.
Maintain and organise records, reports and information, and potentially assist in developing a staff Modern Slavery resource site in SharePoint and assist with organising/adding Modern Slavery information to upcoming Contracts Management module in Finance system.
In consultation with OGC and Procurement contribute to review/drafting of Modern Slavery clauses/written report information as may be requested.
Attendance at Modern Slavery Working Group Webinar (and other relevant webinars as may apply from time to time) to keep abreast of the latest learnings and undertakings.
Other related work as may arise in the Finance and Planning directorate, as may be requested by the Procurement team or the Associate Director, Financial Operations (generally via the Procurement team).
