About the Role: This is a part-time role (five days per fortnight), and it's crucial that the right candidate has the flexibility to work on any of these days, depending on PR/media requirements.
As the PR Specialist at Guide Dogs Victoria, you will lead strategic public relations initiatives, elevating the brand's presence and fostering strong connections with key media, stakeholders, and the community.
You'll manage end-to-end PR campaigns, support major events, and collaborate closely with internal teams and our external partners to ensure our messaging reflects the impactful work Guide Dogs Victoria does for people with low vision or blindness.
This role requires a proactive, highly organised PR professional with a passion for storytelling, exceptional media relations skills, and a strong strategic mindset.
This position reports to the Marketing Campaigns Manager and works closely with other members of the Marketing team and organisation.

About You: Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years in PR roles, ideally within the nonprofit, health, or community services sector.
Strong experience in media relations in Victoria and integrated campaign work is essential.
Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Experience with social media strategy and the digital landscape, understanding how to amplify PR efforts online.
Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
Established relationships within the media landscape, particularly in Victoria, with a proven record of securing impactful media coverage.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling narratives that reflect Guide Dogs Victoria's mission and values.
A proactive thinker who can anticipate potential PR opportunities and risks, with a solutions-focused approach to challenges.
Genuine interest in supporting people with low vision or blindness and in representing the mission and values of Guide Dogs Victoria.
