Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) has an exciting opportunity for a Public Health Project Officer at the Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU).
This position is on a part-time , fixed term basis of 42 hours per fortnight until the end June 2025 .
The GRPHU is led and coordinated by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) and is one of nine local public health units across Victoria working closely with the Department of Health in a state-wide system of Public Health delivery and response.
GRPHU works throughout the Gippsland region across Public Health pillars of prevention, protection and promotion.
The Public Health Project Officer will work with all GRPHU teams to support the administration and delivery of projects including project planning and coordination, data collection and management, database development and monitoring, and report writing.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of key software systems including graphic design programs such as Canva and the ability to prepare templates and reports.
They will support the scheduling of training, participate in and support community and partner engagement, and facilitate effective communication of public health activities to community and partners.
About you
Ideal candidates will have:
Highly developed administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines and the ability to independently handle inquiries, correspondence and activities.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
Experience in coordinating projects including logistical support and coordination of project partners, meetings, community engagement activities, workshops and forums.
Experience in gathering and presenting data using a range of methods.
Proficiency in creating charts, graphs and other data visual data representations.
Familiarity with setting up and managing online discussions and surveys using tools like Microsoft Forms.
Awareness of Health Promotion theories and public health principles.
Ability to address challenges in a changing environment and find effective solutions.
