About the role
As the Public Art Project Officer, you will oversee the operations of the City's Public Art Program while spearheading the development and implementation of new public art projects. You will be a key player in building internal and external relationships, facilitating community engagement, and supporting public art initiatives that inspire and enrich public spaces. Your role will include providing expert advice, coordinating public art projects, managing project documentation, and ensuring that public art strategies align with best practices for diverse cultural engagement.
Work type: Permanent part time 45.6 hours per fortnight
Classification: Band 6 $90,263 - $97,365 per annum plus super
Key responsibilities include:
Serve as a key liaison for stakeholders in public art project proposals. Foster collaborative relationships with council teams and community partners. Champion the involvement of artists, encouraging investment and innovation. Deliver and support public art projects, including those involving First Nation's artists. Manage project documentation, including procurement, reporting, and evaluation. Identify and secure grant funding and manage related reporting requirements. Coordinate public art events and facilitate community participation in projects. Provide guidance on the care and management of outdoor art collections. Adhere to Council policies and contribute to creating an inclusive, child-safe environment. About you
To be successful in this role you will have extensive knowledge and experience in the arts and cultural industries.
Proven project management skills, with a strong track record of managing public art projects. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience developing project management tools and facilitating networks. Relevant tertiary qualifications with experience or substantial relevant professional experience. Current Victorian Driver's Licence. Tertiary qualifications in Arts Administration, Architecture, or related fields.
