The position is newly established and will require a psychologist with an interest in providing psychology to elderly clients in the community. The position will work with a large MDT of Allied Health and nursing, servicing clients across the LHD. What You'll be Doing To deliver evidence based psychological assessments and interventions in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with a wide range of behavioural and emotional disorders in a community based setting as part of the SWSLHD Transitional Aged Care Program. The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises psychologist and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs. Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas). Demonstrated effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations. Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care. Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
