The Sexual Health Service in Townsville provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care including management of sexually transmissible infections and blood-borne viruses, non-forensic sexual assault, transgender care and clinical management, sexual dysfunction, and genital dermatological conditions as well as education services for health professionals.

Generous remuneration package value up to $5523.00 p.m. comprising:
Salary range of $39.86 to $58.59 p.h.

The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Demonstrate motivation to work in the sexual health specialty and with our core client groups: men who have sex with men, sex workers, young people, those considering or who identify as transgender, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, women accessing termination of unwanted pregnancy, drug users and people living with blood borne viruses.Experience in working with persons experiencing distress related to Sexual Health issues would be desirable but not essential.Demonstrated best practice clinical, health, and/or developmental psychology knowledge, expertise and skill.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, medical and nursing team, and other key stakeholders.Effective communication skills, including the ability to engage patients across the lifespan, interdisciplinary teams, and other internal and external stakeholders.Requirements: Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology, and be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA).While not mandatory, a PsychBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology would be highly regarded.This position requires possession of a C class driver licence.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.For additional information regarding the responsibilities and/or other requirements for this position please refer to the role description.
