The core function of Carbal Medical Services is to provide medical services to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through two medical practices and multiple community programs and initiatives.
Carbal covers the regions of Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi.
Position Overview If you are an APS registered psychologist and have a passion for helping to address mental health issues in the community then we would like to hear from you.
This role requires you to:
be part of a multidisciplinary team addressing mental health in the community;work one-on-one with clients in a clinical environment;be driven, motivated and have a passion to assist clients to foster independence and resilience and achieve their goals;possess high level communication skills, the ability to work independently and have a thirst to learn;Work closely with GPs, Psychologists and other health professionals;Build and maintain respectful and meaningful relationships with community members.What We Can Offer You Work alongside a multidisciplinary team Significantly rewarding position, directly affecting the health improvements of client's lives.Requirements You will be a Medicare ProviderYou will have a demonstrated understanding of the Mental Health and Social issues found in our Indigenous Communities.Be an accredited APS registered psychologistYou must have a C Class driver's license You will have a demonstrated ability to work as part of teamPrevious experience in the NFP, mental health or disability sectorsExperience in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a clear understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture.Applicants must submit their resume and cover letter by COB Thursday 21st November 2024 by email to ****** or by selecting apply now.
