Are you a dedicated and qualified psychologist passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) invites applications for the position of Psychologist, responsible for providing specialist skills and support to a group of Catholic schools across Western Australia.
Role Overview: As a Psychologist within CEWA, you will play a pivotal role in addressing the psychological and educational needs associated with student learning, behavior, attendance, crisis response, mental health, and wellbeing. Reporting to the Lead Psychologist with ultimate accountability to the Team Leader of Psychology, Safety, and Wellbeing, you will collaborate closely with schools, communities, and external professionals to foster an environment conducive to students' holistic development.
Primary Accountabilities: Collaborate with school stakeholders and external agencies regarding student mental health, behavior, attendance, and learning.Offer consultation and implement whole-school multi-tiered systems, policies, and programs to support student wellbeing.Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide detailed reports to schools and parents.Assist in assessing and referring students in potential harm situations.Develop plans and documentation to support applications for additional services.Build the capacity of education staff through tailored professional learning sessions.Aid schools in preparing for and managing serious incidents and crises.Shared Accountabilities: Maintain accurate records consistent with CEWA and Psychology Board of Australia standards.Participate in team and staff meetings, seeking appropriate guidance or supervision.Provide peer support and supervision to colleagues and other mental health professionals.Commit to ongoing professional development and fulfill other duties as specified.Qualifications and Requirements: Hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles full or provisional registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.Demonstrated skills in evidence-based psychological practices for children, young people, and schools.Proficiency in psychometric assessments, intervention development, and recommendation implementation.Ability to interpret data effectively and lead program development and implementation.Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative team player, and ethical decision-maker.Strong written communication skills and IT competence.Willingness to travel (car and plane) when required. Valid C class driver's license.Experience in educational settings, working with Aboriginal or culturally diverse communities, and with students with disabilities.Conditions and Benefits: Secure a full-time ongoing position.Level 1.1 – 2.6 on the salary scale ($87,478 to $128,242 per annum).Additional 13 days of annual leave pro rata per annum.Access to leading professional learning and system-wide support.Health & wellbeing benefits through our corporate partnerships.Join us in our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where children's safety, wellbeing, and learning thrive within the Catholic Education system.
