Job Description As a Psychologist,  you will play a pivotal role in providing psychological support and intervention to detainees, promoting mental health and well-being, and ensuring the implementation of effective support programs and policies.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and implementing the Psychological Support Program Framework, designing Supportive Monitoring and Engagement Plans for detainees, and collaborating closely with key stakeholders to promote holistic mental health care within the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Transition Phase Responsibilities: Lead Transition Planning: Lead the planning and development of new psychological support program during the transition in phase for establishing new detention facility services.
Develop New Policies and Procedures: Establish and document new policies and procedures for psychological support services, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and best practices.
Coordinate Training for Key Staff: Develop and deliver training sessions for key staff on new psychological support services, focusing on effective implementation and adherence to new policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including other healthcare professionals, facility management, and external agencies, to ensure successful implementation of new psychological support services.
Qualifications Degree in Psychology or Clinical Psychology Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience Demonstrated experience in providing psychological support and intervention services, preferably in diverse or multicultural settings Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles, cultural competency, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities Strong ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and professional integrity If you are passionate about making a positive impact in the field of mental health, we would love to hear from you!
