Exciting opportunity for a Psychologist to join the Department of Health!
The Role: As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Psychologist will:
Undertake the delivery of quality care to clients of the Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service based on best practice principles and within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.Provide a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of Child and Adolescent, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment and Older Persons Mental Health Service and their families or carers.Promote community awareness in relation to mental health and act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with mental health needs.Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.Tertiary qualification/program of study required to be approved by the Psychology Board of Australia. Psychologist to be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
The Team: Glenorchy Community Care Team is a large catchment including the midlands and Derwent valley, Brighton council area and city of Glenorchy.We are a vibrant multidisciplinary team including Lived experience workers, Nurses, Psychologists, Social workers, Occupational therapists, and Psychiatrists.Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.

Salary:$106,966 - $123,013 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.Benefit available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
