Job Opportunity: Psychiatrist Child Youth & Adolescent (Staff Specialist) Location: Mackay, Queensland Department: Mental Health & AODS Position Type: Permanent Full-Time (80 hours per fortnight) We are currently scheduling interviews for a dedicated Psychiatrist Child Youth & Adolescent - Staff Specialist to join busy Mental Health team in Mackay. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the mental health of young people in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities:Clinical Care:Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for children and adolescents.Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.Offer expert consultation and guidance on complex cases within the team and to external partners.Leadership & Teamwork:Lead and mentor junior staff, including registrars and allied health professionals.Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.Engage in continuous quality improvement and clinical governance activities.Professional Development:Participate in ongoing professional development and training.Contribute to research and academic activities as appropriate.Community Engagement:Work with local agencies and stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and services.Engage with families and caregivers to support the holistic care of young patients.Salary & Benefits:Total remuneration value of up to $470,780 (L24) or up to $514,452 (L27), based on experience.Base salary between $204,206 - $258,910, depending on classification level.Additional Benefits:12.75% employer superannuation contribution.17.5% leave loading for 4 weeks leave.Generous salary sacrificing options (conditions apply).Professional Development Leave: 3.6 weeks per annum.Professional Development Allowance: $21,500 per annum.Motor Vehicle Allowance.Overtime and on-call allowances.Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (including private practice arrangements).Access to paid parental leave (conditions apply).Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Corporate membership discounts.Fitness Passport access (conditions apply).Location Perks:Enjoy the relaxed and comfortable lifestyle of Mackay, a tropical region with beautiful beaches and outdoor living.Conveniently located near the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.Access to high-quality schools and a wide range of sporting facilities.Requirements:Qualifications: Specialist registration with AHPRAExperience: Demonstrated experience in child, youth, and adolescent psychiatry.Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and leadership abilities.Vaccination: Compliance with Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements is mandatory.
