About the roleWe're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Patient Support Services Assistant - Tech Suites (Operating Theatres) to join our dynamic team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in enhancing patient care and ensuring smooth service delivery within the hospital's technical suites.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, and have a passion for delivering excellent service, we want to hear from you!This is a full-time role working Monday - Friday 0700-1500Key Responsibilities:Provide assistance with patient movement, ensuring safety checks on equipment and complying with hospital procedures for transfers and repositioning.Support housekeeping tasks by maintaining cleanliness and organisation of clinical areas, replenishing consumables, and ensuring tidy and safe environments.Transport equipment, case carts, and consumables between clinical areas and ensure all items are handled and stored according to infection control guidelines.Assist clinical staff with specific duties, such as packing and transporting soiled instruments, and ensuring the cleaning of patient equipment like shower and commode chairs.Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, participate in Zero Harm initiatives, and report any hazards or incidents to maintain a safe working environment.About youSkills and Experience:Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent is desirable but not essential.Previous experience in a healthcare environment or patient support service is preferred but not required.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with patients and clinical staff.A positive, flexible approach to work, with a willingness to embrace change and take on new tasks.Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a high standard of personal appearance, including a clean and tidy uniform, and adhering to safety protocols.Why work for us?Working for the Downer Group means every day you will be enabling our communities to thrive.
