Prudential Risk Capital and Credit Risk Senior Manager - Global Bank Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)
JS Careers has been engaged to source an experienced Senior Manager of Regulatory Risk - Capital and Credit risk for a global financial institution.
This role requires a deep understanding of best practices and regulatory expectations of a second line of defence risk function. The Prudential Risk function provides regulatory obligations oversight and advisory support over financial markets, retail banking, finance and treasury first-line activities, including the risk appetite framework, stress testing and controls relating to compliance with Group Policy and local regulatory requirements.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing independent regulatory risk oversight of capital, IRB and Credit risk management for all entities in Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities: Review capital & credit risk management policies, procedures, metrics and limits and controls to ensure they are within the defined corporate standards Review and challenge stress testing process for credit & capital and document as appropriate Keep current on regulations relating to capital risk management Review new product proposals to ensure that these take into account capital and credit risks Utilize analysis supplemented by expert judgment and qualitative evaluation, to drive a programme of validation and independent review that meets the requirements and framework as defined by Group policy and which satisfies local APRA requirements Work closely with other areas of Risk to ensure full regulatory risk oversight of capital, credit and IRB risk. Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and maintain satisfactory level of audits as required. Ensure risk processes are operating via ongoing and formal review. Requirements: Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in a relevant numerate subject Practical experience of managing capital and credit Risk, either in a first or second-line role in a large bank Practical experience of capital and/or stress testing Good working knowledge of capital and credit risk regulations Experience working across all levels of an organisation to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level Good knowledge of banking products, funding markets and products and collateral management.
