0.5 FTE part-time, 12 month fixed-term opportunity for a Business Program Manager Lead the University's Privacy Resilience Program, hybrid working environment Offering a competitive remuneration package including 17% superannuation About the opportunity The University's Governance Office (UGO) is in an exciting period of development, striving to deliver a contemporary and integrated service offering aligned with the University's strategic objectives. As a result, we are seeking an experienced Business Program Manager to provide overall management of the Privacy Resilience Program (PRP). This is a high-profile remediation program which is aimed at reducing the University's significant risk exposure in relation to management of sensitive personal information.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Manager, Privacy, and to play a strategic role overseeing and directing the program of work. Leading a team of program specialists, you will work with senior representatives of impacted areas to ensure appropriate focus and buy-in towards addressing risks within their area, in relation to privacy and data collection practices.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Work with the business owner to manage the overall approach and work plans to ensure achievement of the program outcomes.
Ensure senior leaders have a strong understanding of their compliance obligations in relation to data collection and privacy matters, within their respective work areas.
Collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders across the various portfolios, faculties and schools and research centres, to provide recommendations and support towards implementation activities within their local areas.
Manage the overall program financials, resources, prioritisation, organisation and implementation.
Ensure that ICT project activities are aligned with the business activities and manage any conflicts or disconnects.
Manage the development of communications and promote the program of work across the University.
Partner closely with the Privacy team to manage reporting through to governance committees including the Steering Committee, University Executive (UE), and the Performance and Risk Committee (PARC), including attending meetings as required.
Encourage and promote good privacy practices and support management and mitigation of University-wide risks.
Please note: there is opportunity for the successful candidate to discuss the most appropriate scheduling of the weekly working hours, to suit the requirements of the role, under this 0.5 FTE arrangement.
About you Experience in the program management of governance activities and frameworks in relation to privacy, confidentiality and data collection.
High degree of comfort working within a complex and multifaceted organisation (tertiary sector is advantageous).
Demonstrated experience in complex program management involving intersecting legal, policy and business practice considerations.
Sophisticated influencing skills, and the ability to provide relevant and strategically aligned advice to senior stakeholders.
Proven track record in the successful leadership and management of a high performing team of project professionals.
Excellent program management and planning skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
Capability in managing high volumes, competing priorities and a variety of responsibilities and stakeholders.
