Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals What you'll be doing

The Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospital provides access to a full range of gastroenterological services including inpatient and outpatient care, standard and evolving advanced interventional endoscopy.
The provisional fellow is expected to provide comprehensive care and consultative services to admitted patients under the supervision of the admitting gastroenterologist.
Provisional fellows will be able to perform diagnostic, procedural and on-call services.
Appointees may be required to participate in other on call rosters at nominated facilities within Western Sydney Local Health District as determined by clinical operations.
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Gastroenterology in Australia.
Excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgement.
Adept ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services


Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education, quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the health agency.
If the incumbent's registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the health agency for this role.
