Our Purpose: Grow Townsville About the role This position plays a key role in providing advice and technical expertise in the creation, planning and delivery of council led events including civic receptions, ceremonies and special events and working collaboratively across Council to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and to deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville Community. About you Our ideal applicant will have a Certificate IV or Dipolma level qualification in Events Management and / or administration, and / or equivalent relevant experience in the events industry and High level coordination and time management skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with atleast two years experience in an event planning or or delivery role. Demonstrated experience in the technical and practical aspects of event and project management including concept development, negotiating contracts, risk management, marketing and budgeting as well as advanced knowledge of officaial protocol systems and procedures. Along with demonstrated skills and experience in working with community-based organisations, event organisers and promoters, and government agencies (internal and external) related to program planning and event delivery.
