What's involved – The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the specialty of School Based Youth Health Nursing. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Nursing, Child Youth and Family Services, and the wider health care team to support the clinical unit in the provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of School Based Youth Health Nursing. There will be an element of hands-on operational delivery of services associated with this role.
As a member of the Child, Youth and Family Health Team, the role will work collaboratively and more broadly with other team members to ensure sustained delivery of strategic priorities and operational imperatives.
School Based Youth Health Nurses (SBYHNs) play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of students with a focus on preventive health care and health education supporting staff and students.
