Protection Engineer – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD Join Western Power's Engineering & Design team as a Protection Engineer and play a key role in shaping the future of power system protection and control.
We're looking for a motivated professional to bring their engineering expertise to the development and implementation of innovative designs, protection settings, and estimating solutions. You'll also have the opportunity to lead project and contract management efforts, as well as provide consulting services in the fast-evolving field of power systems. Your Role in Action Undertake specialist technical and engineering work as outlined under the position purpose. Deliver services to commercially competitive standards for technical excellence, safety, environmental quality, cost and customer satisfaction; Operate commercially and competitively in meeting quality, time and budget standards; Investigate, recommend and adopt industry best practice for client or work areas; Comply with all legal and contracting requirements; What Makes You a Great Fit Degree in electrical engineering recognised by Engineers Australia as satisfying the academic requirements for appointment as a professional engineer At least 4 - 6 years' experience in a multi-disciplined power engineering role in the Networks business Sound knowledge of principles of transmission and distribution protection and automatic control design and estimating processes Power system primary and secondary facilities Sound knowledge of engineering standards, regulations and procedures associated with power system protection and automatic control By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
