About the Role The Power Technician Secondary (Protection & Control Tester) role will be required to undertake work including a variety of calibration, diagnostic, testing and measurement services during construction, operation, and maintenance to electrical protection and control equipment and electrical plant on AusNet Electricity Network. The role may be required to perform availability on-call duties.
We have various depot locations: Thomastown, Moorabool, Rowville, Bendigo, etc.

Key Responsibilities Include Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment.Coordinate testing activities with internal and external customers and prepare necessary work records and reports.Receive, apply, and process access & test authorities.Install, commission, and maintain secondary systems, and assist with technical investigations.Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining required training and authorizations.Perform HV operational functions, including availability as required.Use of test equipment, including technologies.About You The successful candidate is required to display strong technical knowledge and experience working across power systems related to secondary equipment and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power systems/Diploma of Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Proven ability to undertake maintenance of High Voltage electrical apparatus and Construction activities in stations.Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of High and Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus in Terminal Stations, Zone substations & HV Transmission Lines.Ability to analyze information and resolve technical issues, including fault finding related to maintenance and commissioning of secondary systems.Proactive in identifying the critical resources necessary to achieve desired objectives.Capacity to act decisively to ensure network security and public safety.Display a positive customer and team focus, work effectively, and participate in identifying workplace change or productivity improvements.Current active Australian driver's license.The role has coverage across Victoria; you may be required to travel and overnight stay within the state on occasions.
