About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Design Engineer. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the success of Zone Substation design projects. Your responsibilities will include delivering design documentation, providing engineering support, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of the design process. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment where your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects.
Key responsibilities include: Produce design documentation for assigned Zone Substation projects.Provide engineering support to internal and subcontract resources.Audit designs for Zone Substation projects, proposing solutions for anomalies.Assist in estimating, scoping, and designing, supporting Operations and Project Managers.Contribute to team training and development.Develop, design, and organize engineering documentation suitable for operational personnel to control field activities, ensuring delivery expectations for customer service, quality, and safety are met.Ensure that work practices and procedures accord with Zinfra Policies, Quality System, and statutory safety requirements as advised and directed.About you Ideally, you will have:
Engineering qualifications recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia or similar technical qualifications/experience. Having NER, CPEng, RPEV or the ability to obtain it will be looked upon favourably.Familiarity with Protection Relays, Fault Analysis, and integration of Secondary systems with Primary Systems and SCADA on Distribution & Sub-Transmission networks. Experience with IEC61850 will be a plus.The ability to create schematic drawings in AutoCAD is preferred.Demonstrated ability in project management skills, including project definition, project scope, project administration, reporting, and financial control.Practical experience in customer service delivery and project management financial control principles.Proven skills in supervision, prioritisation, and scheduling of activities to optimise time and resource utilisation.Demonstrated commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and the application of quality improvement principles.If you are a proactive and experienced Design Engineer with a passion for excellence, we invite you to apply and be a key contributor to our innovative projects and collaborative team.
