Servicing local councils as one part of a large customer base, they specialize in the urban design and the manufacturing production of Recreational Equipment.We have an opportunity for a Metal Trades professional to join the team to head up the Metal Trades & Assembly Department.
The role does not require interested parties to be trade qualified, but there is a need to demonstrate welding competency by means of a welding test.
This metal trades team leader will work in unison with the Furniture and Finishing Trade Team leaders to deliver the end products of benches, bollards, picnic sets, shelters, and tables bins.This is a hands-on role, on the tools while providing instructions.
Please consider this before applying.We are wanting someone with a skillset that is a combination of technical knowledge, fabrication craftsmanship, and attention to detail!ABOUT THE ROLEWelding with Aluminum / stainless and galvanized steel and reading fabrication drawings.MIG / TIG / Stick Welder while coordinating the 2 other team members.Production meeting objectives agreed and implemented for order ETA.Plan design / review product drawings and identify any anomalies / variations.Production and assembly of the Steel tasks and all welding product requirements.Liaising with Operations manager daily to consult on Production targets and orders to be completed.Stock take and ordering of workshop materials / parts.Plan - design assembly and production - review of drawings.
Identify any anomalies / variation.Coordinating Production steps post assembly eg : being sent to other departments for finish.Final product Quality check and Assurance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESBenchmark and set the production standard for ETA of orders.Allocating tasks to the team - time management & develop efficiencies.Quality control - inspect and sign off (release orders) for delivery to customers.Planning of Production - the role is required to be hands-on, prepare welding tools & materials for manufacturing.Delegating and assigning tasks to team and prioritization to meet business needs.Input and consulting on design recommendations.Liaising with Design Procurement for pricing and establishing commercial target - continuous feedback.EXPERIENCE REQUIREDFabrication drawings, instructions.Fixing / assessing material reliability.Manual dexterity, an eye for detail and accuracy, and a sense of proportion and balance.Metal engineering principles.Stock control and dispatch experience - preparing goods to go - Crating / wrapping to go.Leadership and passion to own this area and create a personal efficiency to go with it.Your application will include the following questions :Do you have fabrication experience?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?Do you have professional welding experience?How many years' experience do you have as a Production Team Leader?How many years' experience do you have in a quality control (QC) role?
