About theRole
Thisposition is accountable to the Chief Legal Officer and will befocused on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community;growing and managing customer relationships, developing a cultureof customer-centricity and personal accountability; and reshapinghow we deliver services to maximise value.
Thisposition works to assist the Chief Legal Officer, as directed, inthe areas of legal services with a focus upon property law,including negotiating and drafting property-related documents, landacquisitions and sales, and property titling matters.The rolewill also be required to provide advice on legislation relevant toCouncil, and general legal advice applicable to the operations oflocal government. Providing timely, high quality and strategicallyaligned legal advice to Council with a focus upon propertylaw.
AboutYou
Ourideal applicant will have detailed knowledge of and experience inproperty law (more than 5 years post-admission experience is highlydesirable) with general practice legal experience, along withexperience in legal research and writing legal opinions.
Youwould be experienced in local government, planning and development,commercial, and criminal and have excellent problem-solvingskills.
