About the team The Property and Place branch enables the department's property portfolio and supports delivery of the department's purpose: to build a better future for all Australians through enabling a productive, resilient, and sustainable economy, enriched by science and technology.
The Property Projects team is responsible for the effective management and delivery of capital projects and programs on behalf of the department with a primary objective to ensure all facilities leased and owned by the department are functional and meet business and operational needs.

Our ideal candidate We are looking for a motivated, responsive and energetic person to join our team. You will develop comprehensive skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, communication and whole-of-government frameworks.
Ability to assist with major and minor office fit outs, office modifications and infrastructure projects. An understanding of procurement processes and experience in managing multiple procurement process through various stages, whilst ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules. Experience in managing sub-contractors, including performance management against contract scope and service level standards. Ability to maintain project budgets, expenditure and reporting requirements. Ability to assist the team make continuous process improvement including sharing project management expertise, mentoring and training to other staff to build team capacity. Availability to travel as required. What you will do Assist with administering phases of multiple construction-based project works, including scope development, project delivery and close out of projects. Lead non-complex office modification projects. Coordinate project delivery processes, including procurement, management of risks, budget and regular project reporting. Monitor progress against schedule, check quality throughout the delivery period, identify risks and communicate these risks to the relevant stakeholders. Ensure completed projects are compliant with all relevant statutory, government and end user requirements. Communicate project information simply and succinctly in written and verbal formats to internal and external stakeholders. Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
