Projects Supervisor HVAC Air (Trade Licensed Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) THE ROLE
Are you established in your trade (refrigeration/air-conditioning) with natural organisation and attention to detail skills catapulting you into leadership positions?
Then this could be the role for you. If you are currently working as a trades person on the tools and you have excellent attention to detail, good communication skills, and a knack for coordination, then we are looking for you.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a midsized HVAC contractor in an office-based role as a projects supervisor. Reporting directly to the National Construction Manager, this position is essentially a step into Project Management; delivering successful project programmes.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a benchmark provider in Cooling, Heating, and Temperature control of large spaces, thinking Bunnings, pharmaceutical warehouses, mega logistics centres, and large-scale sports arenas. This is the core business and makes up the majority of project work.
They also deliver ventilation, office air conditioning, and other specialty systems, as well as bespoke BMS solutions fully optimising energy efficiency for the life of the facility.
The systems are prefab and installation time is minimal, in some cases delivered in a morning and via equipment helicopter for those logistically challenging projects! It is a fast-paced and exciting environment; due to the nature of the projects, the operational team is small, and so the business runs a fairly flat structure from its Brisbane operation that services both Australia and overseas (Germany, China, Indonesia) and is expanding.
REQUIREMENTS
Trade Qualified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic
Understanding of the construction skills process and project management principles
Around 3+ years' experience in managing project budgets and programmes
RESPONSIBILITIES
Subcontractor relationship management
Project budget and programme management and planning
Design and site meeting attendance
Assist when required with on-site direct supervision of installation of HVAC systems
Reporting on project budgets and tracking project critical contract information
Coordination with in-house design, drafting, controls, and services teams
Interstate and overnight travel
Provide mentoring to the project team
