But enough about us, let's talk about you We are in the market for a highly skilled and motivated individual to manage the City's major and minor capital works contracts, as well as providing project management services.
Reporting to the Manager Project Management, this role will mean that you will be responsible for managing civil and building contracts and projects including leading internal groups and expert consultants; coordinating the design process through concept schematic drawings to construction contract documentation; facilitating the procurement and contract awarding process and ensuring programmed targets and budgets are met.

You are friendly, supportive and actively listen to the needs of others.You enjoy working with people, can build strong relationships, and are open to the opinions of others.You set challenging but realistic goals, reflect and learn from experiences and problem solve to get the job done.You are able to provide quality infrastructure project management services to the organisation, which include timely and budget sensitive delivery of key capital works projects and other projects.You effectively manage major capital investment works projects and minor capital works projects by facilitating multi-disciplinary teams and provide advice on strategic commercial and project issues.You ensure that the application of best practice methods is used for Contract administration, including the assessment of, and response to variations, extension of time and other Contract related requests.You actively manage project and contractual risks and compliance, and prepare project risk registers with clear mitigation plans.What can you bring to the team? Degree qualification in a relevant discipline, e.g. Engineering, Construction or Building and a minimum of five years relevant experience.Recognition by the relevant governing body as a registered professional e.g. (Engineers Australia) as a Professional Engineer.Project Management skills and experience.Procurement and contract management skills.Sound knowledge of the statutory approval process relevant to construction, regulatory authorities, procedures, codes and regulations.Current unrestricted 'C' class national driver's licence.The finer details This Level 9 (temporary 12 month) full time position, attracts a salary range of $125,891 - $134,254 depending on qualifications and experience including a travel allowance.
